THE MAKE UP PROCESS

Have you ever had your make up done professionally? During the process of mixing different substances from concealer to foundation to blusher etc., you wonder what the result will be. While having someone do my makeup recently, I checked the mirror and took pictures during the process. Initially, the process didn’t make sense but by the time I was done, it all made sense.

Dear reader, in life, we all pass through various journey. Each one’s journey is unique to them. What matters most is how your journey refines you. For a gold to be purified and dazzling, it must pass through fire. There will always be challenges in life but how do you make the best of it? Every phase of our lives requires a process, e.g., nursing/nurturing children, getting married and building a home or badging a degree. You can’t skip the process to the goal. If you try to skip the process and cut corners, you will lose the values and the lessons that make you tick and successful for the position. You need to build resilience and learn the value of profitable relationships.

Back to my make up story, to start with, the oil and old makeup was cleaned off my face. This may mean dropping bad habits that does not match your destination, re-evaluate your relationships and dropping excess baggage.

In addition, it was not all rosy as the eye liner was used to line my eye lid. My eyes were teary, and I kept blinking. For every success story, there is a time of pain, sacrifice and dedication. In the end, everything all adds up. If I got tired of sitting for the makeup and left prematurely in the middle of the make up session, I can imagine how scary I would have looked. Therefore, patience is required in the journey to greatness.

In the end, while it seems that the make up was done, the accessories and outfit had to be changed to match the makeup and occasion. Sometimes, we are too quick to end the process and come out prematurely because we think we have arrived. Meanwhile, you need accessories like good counsels, continuous learning, humility and social support to remain successful.

Overall, all the above requirements are important for a successful job, parenthood, career or whatever our end goal is. While waiting, remember it is a process, develop yourself, work on your weakness and you come out as pure as gold, ready to utilize the opportunities to take on your world.
