About
Dr. Oluwatoyin Shonubi is a dedicated family physician and passionate mental health advocate with a holistic approach to healthcare. She has over a decade experience in general practice and mental health. She began her medical journey at Obafemi Awolowo University in Nigeria, where she earned her medical degree and practiced as a general practitioner.
Driven by a firm belief that health is not complete without mental well-being, she pursued additional training in mental health at the Lagos University Teaching Hospital while practicing in Nigeria.
In 2018, she relocated with her family to Canada, where she furthered her medical career by completing her Family Medicine residency at the University of Ottawa, Ontario. Her commitment to mental health led her to obtain further certification in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) from McMaster University, Ontario, and currently a fellow at TeleCBT Canada.
Beyond the stethoscope and stage, she is a devoted wife to her ever supportive husband and proud mother of three – two energetic and awesome boys, and a vibrant and charming daughter. She loves singing, traveling, and spending quality time with family and friends.
She aims to spark real change — helping individuals strengthen their self-esteem, take care of their mental wellbeing, and step into their full potential.
